GLOW Magazine Launch! Save The Date!

IMG-20160509-WA0000 copyDear reader,

Thank you for stopping by today. I’m sorry you haven’t heard from me in a while. I’ve been quite busy actually, which is why I am writing to you today.

I am super excited to invite you to the launch of GLOW, Sierra Leone’s premier inspirational women’s magazine on Saturday July 16 2016 at the British Council Hall, Tower Hill, Freetown at 6pm. GLOW – an acronym for God Loves Ordinary Women – is the magazine of More Than Diamonds Inc. , a registered company in SL that targets women of all ages regardless of their socioeconomic, cultural and academic backgrounds. From teenagers to college students to stay-at-home mothers, to working professionals and retirees, our magazine has something for everyone.

Even though our current features are all Sierra Leoneans, our content transcends boundaries – national, cultural and otherwise. And not to say that it wouldn’t inspire men and young boys, but we specifically target women and girls. If anything you will know that in Sierra Leone, where I reside, girls and women have a lot to contend with – teenage pregnancy, sexual abuse, domestic violence, psychological abuse, just to name a few. Many have been led to believe they are not enough – not beautiful enough, smart enough etc. etc. Consequently, many of our girls and women struggle with issues of low self-esteem, self-doubt, fear etc. etc. I know all this because I am a woman.

At More Than Diamonds we believe that a healthy self-image/sense of self-esteem is fundamental to a woman’s development and that a woman’s understanding of her purpose is key to her empowerment. Consequently, our mission is to inspire confidence in and motivate girls and women everywhere to fully embrace their true selves and harness their God-given potential to impact their world – be it the boardroom, the marketplace, the classroom or the kitchen. Our content covers every aspect of a woman’s life (single and/or married) – from cooking to looking and feeling good, from parenting to professional development, it’s all in GLOW.

In this maiden edition, you’ll encounter women who have been through many situations but haven’t allowed those situations to define them. You’ll meet a woman who lends credence to the phrase, don’t envy my glory if you don’t know my story. If you’re a love cynic or skeptic, get ready to have your paradigm shifted by the story of a couple who just recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Of course, there’s something for you if you are single; our feature has a resume that inspires and challenges to greater heights. And get ready to be inspired by the story of a Congo Tong girl who has been to more than ten countries on four continents without ever having to pay for any of those tickets. Not to mention that there’s a little nourishment for your soul.

Proceeds from the sale of tickets and magazines will go toward the design and production of subsequent editions and other administrative costs.

Limited Tickets available for sale  at Le. 50,000. Additionally, some of you  will receive a special invite to serve in as patron in one of the three categories mentioned below. I hope you will respond positively when you do.

Patron Categories:
